Dr Lai graduated in 1986 and completed advanced training in both Internal Medicine and Dermatology in Australia. In the mid to late 1990s, she worked in the United States as a House Doctor in Internal Medicine at Northwestern University Medical School in Chicago, before taking on a role as Clinical Research Fellow in Dermatology at New York University Medical Centre.

Dr Lai has extensive experience in global and corporate healthcare. She has held senior leadership roles with International SOS, working across Southeast Asia and Sydney to provide medical research, infectious disease guidance, occupational health advice, vaccination programs and medical support to Fortune 500 companies and other large organisations.

Alongside her leadership responsibilities, Dr Lai has maintained an active clinical practice, consulting with international travellers, corporate executives and expatriates, including conducting pre- and post-deployment medical assessments.

Dr Lai brings to Executive Medicine deep expertise across internal medicine, dermatology, travel medicine and occupational health, along with a strong understanding of the complex health needs of senior professionals working in demanding global environments. She is Global Medical Director at International SOS, a Fellow of the Faculty of Travel Medicine at the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Glasgow, and a member of the International Society of Travel Medicine.
