About
I am a Specialist General Practitioner and Lifestyle Medicine Physician, living and working in the Adelaide Hills. I believe good healthcare begins with understanding the person behind the diagnosis their story, their circumstances, their relationships, their values, and the things that give their life meaning.
My approach combines evidence-based medicine with Lifestyle Medicine and health coaching principles. I work alongside patients to explore what is influencing their health, identify what matters most to them, and develop practical, personalised strategies that can be woven into everyday life. My goal is not simply to treat disease, but to help people build the foundations for health, resilience and a life well lived.
I have interests in women’s health, including perimenopause and menopause, mental health (including support of neurodivergent patients), weight management, metabolic health (type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, polyendocrine metabolic ovarian syndrome [PMOS] and fatty liver disease), gut health, preventive health and healthy ageing.
I hold a Doctor of Medicine (MD), Master of Lifestyle Medicine, Bachelor of Science with First Class Honours in molecular biology and pathology and am a Fellow of the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners (FRACGP) and the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine (FASLM). Before medicine, I worked in biotechnology research and business consulting, experiences that shaped my curiosity about science, systems and translating evidence into meaningful improvements in health.
Having grown up in rural and remote communities in Australia and overseas, and spending much of my medical career working in rural and remote settings, I have seen first-hand how deeply health is connected to place, culture, community and opportunity. My work has included Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander health, and I have been privileged to learn from the strength, knowledge and resilience of the communities I have worked alongside.
Alongside clinical practice, I am involved in Lifestyle Medicine research and the development of models of care and educational resources to support the integration of Lifestyle Medicine into primary healthcare. I am a South Australian Regional Champion for the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine and remain actively involved in teaching and supervising medical students, junior doctors and GP registrars.
My own application of Lifestyle Medicine is shaped not only by evidence and clinical practice, but by life with my family. Like many families, we navigate the challenges of balancing health, work, relationships, commitments and the everyday realities of modern life. This has reinforced my belief that sustainable health is not about perfection; it is about creating supportive environments, meaningful habits and connections that allow people to flourish.
Outside medicine, I enjoy spending time in nature, gardening, cooking, bushwalking and exploring the ways our connection with ourselves, others and the natural world contributes to wellbeing.
