Susan Hackfath
About
Susan’s early career included working as a Chef in 2 and 3 star Michelin restaurants such as London’s “Harvey’s” (owned by Marco-Pierre White) and “The Canteen” (Co-owned by Marco and actor Micheal Caine). Her work has been published in recipe books “Gastronomia” and “Avoca” cookbooks.
Susan takes her love of food and tailors it, teaching delicious, simple plant-based meals, adapted to a specific individual’s needs and lifestyles, optimising nutrition typically replacing 'lesser' ingredients with healthier options.
Susan began nursing in 2012, including a significant period working at the local regional hospital specialising in the management of complex acute and chronic conditions. Here she came to the understanding that many conditions could be prevented or treated with ‘lifestyle choices’ rather than drugs and ‘medical procedures’. This has led to a love of preventative medicine, culminating in studies in Lifestyle Medicine and Nutrition, gaining a Masters of Lifestyle Medicine and becoming a Fellow of the Australasian Society of Lifestyle Medicine
Susan resides in the beautiful coastal town of Bermagui, on the Sapphire coast, where she offers 2-to-7-day retreats providing cookery classes and Lifestyle Medicine coaching to those wishing to kick start their journey to optimal health and wellbeing (for both the novice and experienced).
