Prof Jerome Sarris
About
Professor Jerome Sarris is one of Australia's most respected integrative mental health consultants, bringing over three decades of combined clinical and research experience to his practice. With more than 260 published research papers and books, his work has appeared in leading international journals including The American Journal of Psychiatry, Lancet Psychiatry, and JAMA. He holds professorial appointments at Swinburne University's Centre for Mental Health, NICM Health Research Institute at Western Sydney University, and The Florey Institute at the University of Melbourne, and serves as Chief Scientific Officer of Neurala Biosciences.
At Evergreen Doctors, Professor Sarris offers telehealth consultations grounded in his biopsychosocial assessment framework — examining physical, mental, lifestyle, and social factors together to map what is truly driving a person's experience. His five core areas of focus are mood disorders including depression, anxiety, insomnia and chronic stress; cognitive concerns and ADHD; healthy brain ageing; mental health optimisation for high-functioning individuals seeking greater clarity, calm, and resilience; and where clinically appropriate, guidance around alternative therapies. Each consultation culminates in a personalised written report with an integrative treatment plan.
